Week 2

What do you hope to learn from the program?
What do you think about Lifelong Learning?
What other blogs have you discovered? What do you like about them?
Can you see a use for blogs inside the Library?
How about blogging for a client audience?

From this program I hope to learn to understand the terminology of blog, wiki and mashups to name a few and to be able to help the younger children in the library use these new resources. Lifelong learning is important to everyone to maintain an understanding and confidence in this information society. For your brain to retain information it is important to continue learningad absorbing information which is stored in your long term memory not your short term memory, too often the older generations feel that they can't learn or remember happenings anymore but the more, continual learing will keep the brain active and solve this problem. Blogs I have discovered are ACT Public Library Blog and the Southern Tableland History matters blog. Both are uniqueally different offering contrasting information for a variety of users. I particularly like the ACT public Library blog it is interesting and full of information. the other blog mentioned is a bit bland and suited more for academics. There is definitely a use for inside our library and blogging for a client audience, I think children would appreciate and relate to the library using these applications and blogs would be good for new books coming in the library and promoting the library.
